PRA Group Makes Positive Strides with Global Charity Pedometer Challenge

NORFOLK, Va., Apr. 26, 2024 PRA Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: PRAA), a global leader in acquiring and collecting nonperforming loans, spent last month on a Global Charity Pedometer Challenge. The bi-annual charity pedometer challenge debuted across PRA Group’s European business in 2017, and 2024 marked its first year as a company-wide effort, making the competition truly international.

More than 160 teams and 820 individuals participated across 14 countries, including Switzerland, Luxembourg, Finland, Sweden, Australia, Spain, Italy, Germany, Norway, Poland, Austria, the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States.

To compete in the challenge, PRA Group colleagues joined teams of five and tracked their steps daily. Reaching collective step milestones not only took them to virtual locations around the world, but it also earned donations from PRA Group to nonprofit partners worldwide. Individual milestones were also tracked and rewarded with trees planted in the Forest of PRA Group.

The teams completed the month with 265 million steps, equal to 126,998 miles or 204,387 kilometers. This level of participation resulted in more than $7,200 raised for 15 charities around the world and over 120 trees planted for individual accomplishments. Some of the nonprofits who benefitted from the challenge were Doctors Without Borders, the Elizabeth River Trail Foundation and Alzheimer Scotland.

PRA Group Europe’s Communication and Engagement Business Partner Hannah Hague was instrumental in making the initiative worldwide. “It’s been truly uplifting to witness colleagues from every corner of the globe come together, step by step, fostering connections across borders, enjoying the journey and making a positive impact,” said Hague.

PRA Group is committed to giving back to the communities in which its employees live and work around the world. This global philanthropic wellness challenge served as an opportunity for colleagues to socialize across international borders with the added motivation of making a positive impact.
