PRA Group’s Black Excellence Book Drive Honors MLK Day of Service

NORFOLK, Va., Jan. 15, 2024 – In honor of Martin Luther King, Jr., Day, employees from PRA Group’s recently launched Black Excellence Employee Resource Group are uniting to participate in a month-long book drive benefiting WHRO Public Media’s efforts to enhance literacy. WHRO is a nonprofit radio station serving the Hampton Roads, Virginia, area—home to PRA Group’s global headquarters. WHRO’s education programs provide high-quality learning resources for young students and teachers, free of charge.  

A publicly traded global leader in acquiring and collecting nonperforming loans, PRA Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: PRAA) has been a sponsor of WHRO’s PBS Kids Raising Readers Literacy Vans for several years. “It’s important to us that our employees have direct involvement in the work we do in our local communities,” said Spokesperson and Senior Vice President of Communications and Public Policy Elizabeth Kersey. “It’s part of who we are as a company, so we ensure it’s also part of our colleagues’ experience.”

The employee resource group has already collected nearly 70 books during the drive, which will continue throughout the month.
