Roc Solid Foundation and PRA Group Partner for 30-Day Play Defeats Cancer Tour
NORFOLK, VA – PRA Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: PRAA), a global leader in acquiring and collecting nonperforming loans, is partnering with Roc Solid Foundation on its Play Defeats Cancer Tour to build 30 playsets in 30 days across the country for children battling cancer.
When the tour arrived in Texas, PRA Group’s Dallas Regional Office employees joined Roc Solid to build its 12th playset of the tour for Logan Beatty, a local boy fighting Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Although Logan was diagnosed at nine months old and has been receiving treatment ever since, the two-year-old loves to be active and climb around everything in his hospital room, which his family often transforms into an obstacle course to keep him busy and entertained.
Neighborhood playgrounds are not safe for cancer patients because of their weakened immune systems, so Logan’s family is thrilled to have the opportunity to give him a playset of his own where he can run, climb, swing and slide.
“We are so thankful this tour has given us not only the opportunity to give back, but also to directly show this family their community cares about and supports them,” said Katherine Blosser, vice president of operations for PRA Group’s Dallas Regional Office. “Roc Solid is an amazing organization because they take a terrible situation that feels so out of a family’s control and gives them back the power to fight it through play.”
In addition to participating in a playset build, PRA Group’s Dallas office contributed an additional $5,000 to the company’s overall gift towards the campaign.
The Play Defeats Cancer Tour will conclude with the first-ever End of Tour Party, sponsored by PRA Group, on May 20th. The public is invited to Back Bay’s Farmhouse Brewing Co. to help the Roc Solid community celebrate the 30 playsets built and the lives changed through the power of play.
