PRA Group Partners to Raise Over $100,000 During Field Day ForKids
SUFFOLK, VA – PRA Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: PRAA), a global leader in acquiring and collecting nonperforming loans, was a lead sponsor for the 2nd Annual Field Day ForKids. The all-day, multi-sport competition raised over $100,000 in support of families living in poverty in Southeastern Virginia.
Field Day ForKids kicked off with a 2-mile walk along the Cedar Point Club golf course set on the James River. Tennis and pickleball games followed on the Club’s indoor and outdoor courts. Guests also had the opportunity to participate in a par-3 golf competition, which began with brief remarks from Suffolk Mayor Mike Duman.
“Support for the ForKids mission in Suffolk and Western Tidewater continues to grow, as reflected in the increased participation in Field Day ForKids,” said ForKids CEO Thaler McCormick. “We have provided services to families experiencing homelessness in Western Tidewater since 2008, but the 2019 opening of the ForKids Birdsong Center in Suffolk put a spotlight on our work and continues to raise the community’s awareness of issues surrounding poverty.”
“PRA Group has always prioritized the health and safety of children as well as giving back to education,” said Elizabeth Kersey, senior vice president, communications and public policy for PRA Group. “We share in ForKids’ belief that education empowers children to break the cycle of poverty and homelessness. As the pandemic continues to affect our community, PRA Group saw in ForKids the opportunity to meet an enhanced level of need and support children by helping to build strong foundations that will last a lifetime”
Since 2009, PRA Group has contributed more than $7.8 million to charitable causes that strengthen the vitality of communities across the globe.
